At the beginning of January my playstation all of a sudden stopped recognizing by my passport and I dont Know what to do.

You can also try to connect the drive with the computer to check whether the drive is getting detected on the computer or not.

I hooked it up to my laptop and it showed up in Disk Management but said it needed to be initialized.

I am guessing that is because the PS4 format is not recognized by Windows 10.

We have tried shutting everything down and pulling the power cord and letting it sit overnight but it still doesnt recognize the drives content.

Im not sure because it will not mount on my desktop - however, I can see it with Disk Utilities.

I think this might have happened when it was backing up I tried to do something else at the same time with the laptop.not ure.

When I run the same on the ghosted disk1s2, I get the errors that it cannot be repaired and that it needs to be formatted.

I have tried formatting both the ghosted disk1s2 and the normal 1 T Passport disk image.

Since disk utilities says the disk is ok, Im not sure what to try next.

Also, today I now see that the partition has renamed itself disk1s3 possibly momentarily.

Unfortunately I dont recall which combo of formatting I used when it actually allowed itself to be formatted and mounted.

I guess Ill keep trying occasionally to format.just in case it decides to get along with me.
